The castle bears the name of the island on which it was built, in the municipality of Trégastel. It is rather a mansion, dating from the late nineteenth century, entirely made of pink granite careers La Clarté, Perros-Guirec. The islet takes its name from the use that sailors made of it: "old dries" (kozh-sec'herezh in modern Breton) because they were drying their fish in the sun.
